‘Kaka Thand Rakh’ enthrals the audience with a gripping tale

Depicting the story of a homeless man, ‘Kaka Thand Rakh’, a play was staged at Punjab Kala Bhawan in Sector 16 as part of Asharfiyan-3 (2K19), a two-day theatre festival. Organised by the North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala, Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi and Impact Arts, in collaboration with Punjab Sangeet Natak Akademi, the play was based on O Henry’s story, ‘The Cop and The Anthem’.

Directed by Baninderjit Singh Bunny, the play has been adapted by Vivek Roy Khanna and Gurjant Singh. The role of the homeless man was wonderfully enacted by Vivek Roy Khanna who was ably supported by a confident cast in this play, a comedy of errors.
