The weather’s changed for the better and if you are looking to head out for a meal this week, here’s a food festival of interest. Having laid out sumptuous spreads via their themed food festivals like Kashmiri, Kebab & Biryani, Awadhi, Street Food festivals, Hometel Chandigarh is back with an Oriental line-up.
While the city boasts of both fine dining and casual options when it comes to Chinese fare, the food festival aims to present a slice of the best Oriental meals. Think Thai, Indonesian and of course Chinese fare.
The food festival, which is being hosted at Flavours, the all-day dining restaurant of the hotel is open only for dinner and offers a buffet option. Steered by executive chef Bidesh Biswas, the menu has been put together keeping in mind the city diner’s palate. “There’s a mix of the spicy and the flavoursome. We have kept a variety in mind and tried to balance the meats and vegetarian options,” shares the chef.
So if you are planning a meal here, what should you be ordering? The dimsums and the chicken satay make for a good start. The Indonesian Nasi Goreng is a good option for a stir-fry dish and for those looking for a good vegetarian option, do try the mushrooms in Oriental sauce. The five-spiced chicken is full of flavour and lives up to its name. To appease to the desi palate, the menu brings in chilli chicken, chilli paneer, vegetable hakka noodles, spring rolls, crispy fried vegetables. End your meal with Darsaan, a crispy delight here with ice cream.
