Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi is one of the most prestigious and oldest institutions known for the preservation, promotion and dissemination of visual arts in the northern region and one of oldest State Lalit Kala Akademies in the country.
Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi is now inviting entries in Painting, Sculpture, Graphics (Printmaking), Mix-Media, Photography, Drawing, Installation and Multi-Media for participation in its Annual Art Exhibition 2018 to be held in March 2018. There will be three awards of Rs 50,000 each for professional category and five awards of Rs 25,000 each for student category.
Professional and student artists from Punjab and Chandigarh are eligible for participation in this exhibition. Those who wish to participate but not compete, can enter in the ‘Not For Competition’ section. For ‘Competition’ section, minimum two original artworks along with three photographs of other artworks are required. In ‘Not For Competition’ section, one artwork can be submitted. The artworks should be original creation of the artist and not more than three years old.
The entry forms are available free of cost at the office of Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi in Punjab Kala Bhawan, Rose Garden, Sector 16 B, Chandigarh between 10 am to 5 pm. The entry form can also be downloaded from the Akademi website http://www.lalitkalaakademipunjab.com
Entrees along with artworks can be submitted from 1st to 15th January 2018; between 10 am to 5 pm at the Alkademi office, Punjab Kala Bhawan, Rose Garden, Sector 16 B, Chandigarh.
A jury consisting of eminent personalities from the field of art will select the awards and also the artworks for display in the exhibition. To enhance the quality of the exhibition there will also be an invitees section in which renowned and senior artists, to be recommended by a committee, will be invited to display their creations. The invited artists’ works will not be for competition and will not be subjected to any selection process. The Akademi brings out a professionally conceived, designed and produced catalogue of all the artworks represented in the exhibition.
